La photographie appartient aux photographes qui se lèvent tôt:  l’incidence oblique de la lumière donne une belle couleur dorée, et il n’y a quasiment pas de touriste.

The Viennese tradition is to have Strauss’ Fledermaus performed on december 31st, this shot was taken just a few minutes before Act II (I guess all the audience was back at their seats, or already at prince Orlofsky’s party).  This was a great way to start 2012, so wishing everyone a happy new year, or Prosit Neujahr as they say in Vienna !
